FAITH YIANNI is the first ‘Peoples Judge’ chosen from the Royal Exchange Audiences in the North West via a competition searching for the best script report. Faith’s report was chosen anonymously with the support of leading theatre critic Lyn Gardner. Faith will receive support from Lyn and the Royal Exchange throughout 2019.
Faith is a Mancunian with a degree in theatre and performance and particular interest in theatre for social change, and new writing. She is currently training in theatre facilitating with the Royal Exchange’s Young Company and in theatre programming with Contact’s ReCon. Faith’s previous work has included creating and delivering interactive performances for young children in primary schools and libraries, and drama-based workshops for students at a Pupil Referral Unit in Wakefield. Her greatest achievement to date has been directing and curating a public one-to-one immersive theatre experience. Since leaving university, where she lead the new writing society during her final year, she has began directing short pieces of new writing with debuting Mancunian theatre collectives Nothing To Declare and Hung Theatre. At 23 she is the Bruntwood Prize’s youngest ever Judge.
