ABCD for Cultural Recovery project – Alternative Tours of Brighton & Hove City Centre

This contract is being offered by Brighton & Hove City Council as part of its support for the city’s recovery plan for the creative and cultural sector (the ABCD Plan for Cultural Recovery). It is being funded through the Welcome Back Fund and applications are being sought from organisations, not from sole traders. They’re are looking for an organisation to develop and deliver a series of four Artist-led Alternative Tours that offer new perspectives of the city centre. The tours will be led by artists and developed with marginalised communities outside the city centre.

They want the exchange between artists and communities to be meaningful and equitable. Support will be offered by ABCD cultural partners who have long standing relationships in target areas.

We want the tours to encourage people from partner communities to feel welcome and safe exploring the city centre and feel an increased sense of ownership of their city, as well as appealing to other visitors.

The contractor will need to demonstrate their ability to reach and collaborate with marginalised communities.

The budget for this contract is £23,000 (excluding VAT)

This project sits under the ENLIVEN BRIGHTON Strand of the ABCD Plan. ENLIVEN BRIGHTON aims to work with creative and cultural practitioners and businesses to animate the city centre, boosting the city’s vital retail economy and making it a more attractive and rewarding destination to visit. The programme is delivered in partnership with the Brilliant Brighton Business Improvement District (BID).
