Deafinitely Theatre- Deaf freelancers bursary

Deafinitely Theatre has launched a second round of the Deaf Freelancers Bursary, a special project to support deaf or hard of hearing freelance theatre practitioners and performers during the Covid-19 pandemic. They are able to offer an additional six bursaries of £1,000 to support freelancers develop their practice in Summer 2021.

Criteria

They welcome applications from deaf or hard of hearing theatre practitioners and performers aged 18 and over at any stage of their career. You could be a writer, director, designer, choreographer, actor, dancer, stage manager, technician, make-up artist, community practitioner or producer – or any other role in the theatre industry.

You could use the bursary for:

Developing a new idea.
A period of research.
A period of writing.
A period of rehearsing.
Collaborating with another theatre maker.
Training.
Preparing a show reel or video to showcase your work.

They are looking to support a variety of deaf or hard or hearing theatre practitioners and performers at different levels of their career and with different levels of experience and will select six applicants on this basis.

You must be self-employed to apply for this bursary, not in full-time education, live in the United Kingdom and have a UK bank account.

Deadline

Monday 31 May 2021 at midday.

Six successful applicants will be notified by Monday 14 June 2021 at the latest.
