Relish theatre- Open Call for Submissions from LGBTQIA+ writers that explore themes of or reflect on ‘regeneration’

Relish Theatre  are currently searching for talented, queer writers to programme for their upcoming season of work.

They are looking for plays from LGBTQIA+ writers that explore themes of or reflect on ‘regeneration’ to be part of a new season of work curated by Relish Theatre for 2023. The selected script will be produced using sustainable theatre making practices. They are looking for one-act plays, with a running time of no longer than 60 minutes.

Submissions must be from writers who identify as LGBTQIA+, and they are particularly interested in submissions from individuals of marginalised genders, including women, non-binary folks and trans men. They also actively encourage submissions from writers who are underrepresented in the UK theatre industry including d/Deaf, neurodivergent and disabled applicants as well as members of the global majority (inclusive of those of African, Caribbean, South Asian, East Asian, West Asian, Central Asian, South East Asian, Middle Eastern and North African heritage).

Deadline

14th June

The finished production will be produced by Relish Theatre as part of our 2023 season, alongside two other queer plays. Dates and venue will be selected to best suit the production, in conversation with the creative team, and will be made according to the Relish Theatre ethos, including being made using sustainable theatre practices and working to give a platform to early career artists.
