Royal Exchange Theatre Young Company Writer needed

THE ROYAL EXCHANGE THEATRE IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A YOUNG COMPANY WRITER TO JOIN THE CONNECTING TEAM AND WILL BE A VITAL ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT, DELIVERY AND PLANNING OF OUR YOUNG COMPANY 2021 WEEKLY SESSIONS AND SUMMER PRODUCTION.

The post-holder will plan and deliver weekly Young Company sessions for the Writers group (16-21 year olds) and will work with the Young Company Director, Children and Young People Partner and New Work and Talent Lead to ensure a cohesive programme for the year.

Sessions will take place both online and in person at the Royal Exchange Theatre and provisions will be made for both contingencies. As a result, the post-holder must be prepared to travel to the Royal Exchange Theatre weekly, unless they are unable to due to shielding/isolating.

In addition to delivering sessions, they will write a play for the Young Company summer production 2021. Through a devising process, further research and development, the Young Company Writer will work with Young Company Performers and Makers to develop a play for, with and based on the group.

 

The deadline for application is Monday 16 November at 10.00am.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 19 November at the Royal Exchange Theatre.
