Arvon 5-day Residential Playwriting Course: Two free places for young writers

Writers aged 18-29 can apply for the David Pease Award grant to attend an Arvon playwriting course. Two full grants are available to cover the full cost of the fee. The course runs from 26 November to 1 December and the tutors are Alexis Zegerman and Bruntwood Prize winner Matt Hartley.

Workshop

Whether you have an idea but haven’t quite got around to writing that award-winning play yet, or you need help finding that spark of inspiration, this is the week for you. Over the week you will look at ways into writing your play: from character work to exploring setting and staging to hearing your work read out loud. This week will leave you with fresh impetus to finish your play and a set of skills that you will be able to utilise throughout your writing career.

This course is also half-price for Arvon 18-25 members and those in receipt of certain UK state benefits – see here for concession pricing information.

Deadline for grant application

Friday 5 October.

Successful grant applicants will be notified by Wednesday 10 October.
