Stockton Arts Centre- Pizza and Pitches programme

Would you like to do something new and creative?
Are you interested in putting on an event or activity for people in Stockton?

ARC is looking for people to help develop new ideas for events and activities.

They want to work with local people to support you to turn your ideas into reality. Maybe you’ve always wanted to stage a fashion show, write or direct a play, teach other people how to cook or develop your own video skills? Now’s your chance.

ARC is offering grants of £1,000 plus use of our building, staff and resources to help you stage events and activities. We can help you develop your idea, work out how to do it and what it will cost.

Guidelines

  • Your idea must be for something creative and new (i.e. it can’t be for an event or activity already taking place).
  • It must be open to the public, as they want events and activities to encourage more people to be creative, either by watching or taking part.
  • Anyone can put an idea forward, but they would expect you to have some connection with Stockton – be either living, working or studying locally, or have existing relationships with local people that will be part of your idea.
  • You definitely don’t have to be an artist, but they can help connect you with people who have experience of delivering creative activity if you need support.

How does it work?

The first step is to develop your proposal.  You can talk to the ARC at one of their drop in sessions:

• Wed 28 Aug 5.30 – 6.30pm
• Wed 11 Sept 5.30 – 6.30pm

They will select four proposals to be considered at their next Pizza and Pitches night on Wed 9 Oct. Anyone (and everyone!) is invited to come along, enjoy free pizza and hear about the proposals, and then at the end of the night, vote on which one should be supported.

Deadline

Mon 16 Sept
