Barrel Organ presents the first event in the relaunch of their highly successful programme, LIVE LDN. LIVE is a scratch night of daring work, giving emerging, under-represented artists a chance to test new material before a live audience.
They are looking for five artists/companies from across the country who will be commissioned to test up to 20 minutes of material in front of an audience. You will receive a mentor, support from the company, and feedback from the audience. This year, for the first time, LIVE will be delivered in hybrid digital-live format both in a theatre setting and to homes across the country.
Applicants can either put forward a work-in-progress designed to be performed in person, or put forward a work-in-progress designed
to be presented digitally. Digital performances will then be presented in the theatre, alongside the in-person performances. All performances will also be live-streamed to audiences across the country. This means they are looking for work which is either in-person or streamed. Featured artists will receive a mentor, support from the company, and feedback from the audience.
They will be offering artists a commission of £500 each to deliver this work plus in-kind mentoring support from Barrel Organ and a mentor, to be confirmed in discussion with each artist.
Deadline
Thursday 23rd September at 5pm.
Successful applications will be selected by Thursday 30th September, giving roughly 8 weeks development time.
Applicants should be aware that they need to be free on Monday 29th November for tech (online & in-person), with performances commencing at 7.30pm.
LIVE LDN will take place on Monday 29th November at 7.30pm in the main studio space at Camden People’s Theatre and streamed digitally.
