“I often sit down to write upstairs in the cafe at The Cornerhouse because I find it conducive to my writing. Something about the building stimulates, and there’s something about being in a cafe, having a kind of company and yet not, that is good for writing sometimes. I like the view of the cinema across the road. I go there as much as I can because it is all going to change soon when the building moves to its new HOME down the road. I’ve seen so many brilliant movies in the Cornerhouse over the years. It’s like the building forms part of me.”
