Earlier in the year the Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust brought back their Pitch Your Play scheme for 2018 which invited writers aged 16-30 to pitch for the opportunity to stage a reading of a new, unpublished play. In addition, the three winning pitches will receive four weeks of admin support, marketing provision, rehearsal space, office space and creative guidance.
In spring this year Masterclass received nearly 200 applications for the scheme and last week invited 6 teams to pitch their plays to the 2018 panel consisting of director Pooja Ghai, producer Vicky Graham and Masterclass’ Programmer Hazel Kerr.
The winners have been chosen and Masterclass’ 2018 Pitch Your Play season will open with Penny’s From Huddersfield by Wendy Dickinson on Friday 28 September, followed by Zombiegate by Matthew Gabrielli on Friday 26 October and finally Passing by Indigo Griffiths on Friday 23 November. Each reading will take place at the Theatre Royal Haymarket with tickets completely FREE
