Are you a writer, director, actor or producer looking to see your script or idea on the stage? Anonymous was a Woman are looking for submissions of scenes that portray, challenge or reinvent gender perceptions in any way. Your script could be new writing, a devised piece, or a reinvention of an existing work (e.g. a gender-reversed scene from a well-known play).
50/50 is a performance night that presents scenes from new and established artists exploring all things gender-related. With an equal balance between male and female performers, it features a mix of new writing, re-worked classics, devised pieces, spoken word, physical theatre and stand-up.
This time at 50/50 they’re hosting a panel of five industry professionals who can give some feedback to the performers, if requested. The panel members will be coming from a variety of backgrounds including acting agents, writing agents, writers, producers and directors. AIAWTC will also be available beyond the performance night for advice and guidance on taking your work further.
They are looking for applications from artists of all experience levels. We are particularly keen to work with those who have not yet had access to similar programmes, those whose backgrounds are underrepresented on the stage, including those of Black, Asian or minority ethnic heritage, those who are from low-income backgrounds, and theatre-makers who identify as LGBTQ+ or have disabilities.

Performance night at Pleasance Theatre Mainspace this April.
Restrictions apply to the running time of scenes according to the size of your cast: monologues up to five mins, duologues up to 8 mins, 3-4 people up to 10 mins and larger casts up to 12 mins. We are often over-subscribed with monologues, so casts of two or more are often more easily programmed into the night.
