Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize – £3000/rehearsed reading in Venice

 
The Alpine Fellowship is a charity project of the German Foundation ‘Argosophia Stiftung’. Aimed at encouraging theatre writers at the start of their careers to explore and challenge philosophical ideas using the dramatic form. The prize will be £3000 plus a rehearsed reading at the Fellowship’s annual Symposium on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice. This years theme is ‘Childhood’
Guidelines
Open to all nationalities, aged 18 and above.
A dialogue sample of at least 10 pages (a previous play is fine) and a brief proposal of the writer’s intended treatment of the year’s theme of ‘Childhood’ (2 pages max, a single paragraph is fine) both sent to the e-mail address below by March 15th.
The Winner will be expected to deliver a completed script by May 15th, allowing for casting and rehearsals prior to the reading in Venice.
Young playwright and screenwriter Michael Lesslie will judge the submissions and direct the winning entry’s reading.
Shortlisted entries will be notified by email. Judges have final decision and no correspondence is permitted.
