Artist for Life with Chanje Kunda- for artists of colour

Make Yourself at HOME is a place to meet other artists of colour in an informal setting. Whatever art form you’re working in, whether you’re starting out or an old hand, this space is for you!

On 16 November at 5pm they are delighted to welcome Chanje Kunda as a guest speaker.

Chanje Kunda is a poet, playwright and performance artist that has been creatively prolific as a working artist during lockdown. She performed her show Plant Fetish on HOME’s Theatre 2 stage last year. In this talk Chanje will discuss:

How to make work and stay creative during lockdown, sharing a pick and mix of ways to improve your mental wellbeing during lockdown, experience of getting Arts Council project funding during the lockdown and her role in the Freelancers task Force. The talk will be followed by a Q&A.

This is also the opportunity to chat to facilitators former Slate Enabler, Adam Lowe and Saphena Aziz, Independent Producer from Liverpool and former Slate Enabler Merseyside, who will be be on hand to let you know about the latest opportunities.

Adam Lowe is a writer, publisher and producer from Leeds, who moved to Manchester 10 years ago. He’s keen to work with all black artists on developing a presence, applying for funding and accessing networks.
