Black Gay Ink: Coming Out from Lockdown, launched in October 2020, offering a safe space for Black gay men to learn more about positive personal and professional development.

Participants attended ten workshops comprised of four wellbeing workshops and four career development workshops, alongside creative writing activities, all tailored for Black gay men seeking to develop their creative work and pursue writing as a future career. They are thrilled to have had various workshop leaders join the group throughout the course including Dean Atta, Wayne Mertins-Brown, Khris Modeste, Rev Jide Macaulay, Joy Francis, and Marc Thompson.

They’d like to share with you some presentation pieces that Black Gay Ink participants have developed throughout the course at a virtual showcase on Monday 22 February, 7:00-8:30pm. Introducing: Awok Ashok, Bright Amponsah, Colin Barrett, Jason Forrest, Jonelle Roberts, Marcus Burke, Marvin Hay, and Rhyan Holder.

Please join for an evening of new writing, music, comedy, and photography. They’ll also be promoting two new Zoom groups set up to support Black, gay, men – Black Connection and Pure Melanin Gathering.

This event will take place on Zoom, and will be convened by course leader and tutor, T.Fairclough and Spread the Word’s director, Ruth Harrison.
