Blackhorse Arts are teaming up with the Barbican for something special this summer. They’re looking for three new Waltham Forest-based writers – and will give you masterclasses led by professional Waltham Forest playwrights, directors and producers, and support you to create a short play that will be professionally directed and performed at the Walthamstow Garden Party (13th & 14th July 2019).

Who can apply?

They are looking for emerging writers – so you shouldn’t have had a full length play professionally produced (where you got paid a commission – profit share / low pay fringe is fine). If you’ve never written a play before – great! Give it a go! You just need to live or work in Waltham Forest, and be available on the masterclass day on Sunday 2nd June to be eligible. There are no age limits.
