Bursaries for BAME crative practitioners- IETM Rijeka in Croatia

IETM is a major European networking event – ideal for artists and producers who want to expand their careers internationally. They’re offering bursaries for minority ethnic creative practitioners to join the next meeting in Croatia, to make sure the diversity of the UK is represented in this international network.

IETM (Informal European Theatre Meeting) is a network for the contemporary performing arts with over 450 members from across the world. Members include arts organisations and individuals working in theatre, dance, circus, new media, live art, festivals, and in research centres and institutional bodies. The members run two plenary sessions a year in European cities that include debate, talks, pitches and networking alongside an artistic programme of international work.

Attending IETM is the ideal opportunity for creative practitioners who want to make international contacts and broaden their understanding of the global challenges facing the performing arts community in the 21st century.

IETM Rijeka in Croatia will explore the theme of Audiences. The event aims to deepen and challenge our understanding of participation, cultural democracy, everyday creativity, audience development and ownership.

Alongside a bursary of £500, they will arrange a pre-meeting for the bursary winners, so that you’ll know some friendly faces at the conference. Members of the British Council’s Theatre and Dance team will attend IETM Rijeka too. If you are a D/deaf or disabled practitioner, they have a separate opportunity with partners at Unlimited.
