Play Full Theatre began in November 2022. We set out to produce fun, collaborative, and engaging events to foster the work of emerging artists in Scotland. Following a sold out scratch night in January, Play Full Theatres are looking for 10 minute pieces to be performed at their next event in Glasgow on 13th April.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a short play or extract of a longer piece with support from a dramaturgical session and in rehearsal with a director and actors. Pieces will be performed to a live audience and audience members will have the opportunity to offer written feedback.

They’re initially asking for proposals for scripts and non-traditional theatre performances. If your piece is selected, you will be invited to a dramaturgy session on 13th March to discuss your ideas and a sample of your work with a dramaturg. Then you will have the opportunity to work further on the piece until late March when final scripts will be due.

Guidelines 

• The proposal should be for a performance that is 10 minutes long – this can be a short play or an extract from a longer piece
• Your proposed performance should not already be a finished piece so you can benefit from the dramaturgical support
• It should not have been produced or performed before
• They are looking for a mix of genres, topics and styles so it is completely up to you what sort of performance you would like to submit
• In addition to scripts, they are interested in non-traditional theatre performances or experiences which can be adapted to a scratch night audience (see Bear Hunt from our scratch night in January as an example)
• They do not have provisions for tech so are looking for pieces that can be staged minimally
• Please only submit your proposal if you are happy to work with a dramaturg to develop your piece
• f selected, you must be available for a 1 hour dramaturgy session on Monday 13th March – this can be in person in Glasgow or virtually
• You do not have to attend the rehearsal or scratch night event on Thursday 13th April in Glasgow, however, they think creatives would benefit from seeing their piece performed.
