Channel 4- Production Training Scheme

Channel 4 have launched a Production Training Scheme that will provide an amazing opportunity for people to take their first steps into TV production.

The scheme will begin in May 2021 and will offer 15 individuals the opportunity to work as a researcher or trainee script editor with independent production companies outside of London on a paid 12-month contract with a £22,000 salary.

As a researcher, successful applicants will be involved with all different aspects of TV development and production, whilst a trainee script editor will provide editorial and research support to the script team. They will also be given world class training and support during their time on the scheme.

There are opportunities available across the UK – in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and North Wales, Belfast and Glasgow.

The scheme aims to offer opportunities to those currently underrepresented in the TV industry, so Channel 4 is particularly keen to hear from disabled people, people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds who are from or currently living/working in the locations listed.

This is an entry level scheme so is aimed at those with less than 3 months experience in the TV industry.

Deadline:

Friday 29th January 2021

In addition, Channel 4 will be holding virtual workshops for people who want to find out more about the scheme, what makes a great candidate and how to take your first steps into TV production.

These workshops will include former Channel 4 trainees and representatives from the indies taking part. For the Belfast and Glasgow based indies, the workshop will be held on Friday 22nd January.
