Constellation Creatives Bursary – Applications now open for East Asian drama students graduating July 2019

Now in its seventh year, the bursary aims to encourage and promote greater participation and representation of British East Asian actors on stage and screen.

The bursary will be awarded to a final year drama school student of East Asian descent* graduating in July 2019 who, in the opinion of the judging panel, has best demonstrated at the audition/interview that they have the talent, skills and commitment to succeed as a professional actor.

The panel this year will include casting directors from the National Theatre, RSC and BBC. The bursary will include £1,000 as well as a FREE year’s subscription to Spotlight.

 

Eligibility 

  • students must be in their final year of a two or three year Acting, Film/TV or Musical Theatre course at any drama school
  • students must be of  East Asian descent.
  • students must come prepared to present two audition pieces, one classical and one modern of no longer than 3 minutes each and to sight read.
  • students should arrive 15 mins before their appointed time when they will be provided with an extract from a script for the sight reading. They will not be required to sing.

 

Deadline

5pm Friday 24 May.

Applicants will be auditioned and interviewed in London Saturday 01 June.
