DaDaFest Scratch 21 (DDFS21)

 Mon 22 to Sun 28

Nov at Unity Theatre and various venues across Liverpool. Full events listing here.

DDFS21 launches on Monday 22 November at Liverpool’s Unity Theatre and continues until Sunday 28 November at venues across Liverpool and online via live streams as an accessible way for people to attend.

A trailblazer event, DaDa Ensemble x Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company, happened on Thursday 4 November to herald the arrival of a new approach to the way DaDa works with artists. Their vision is to inspire, develop and celebrate talent and excellence by working with and supporting disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent artists/theatre makers/creatives/visual artists/musicians to make quality art and tell stories.

In 2021, DaDa has been working with a cohort of disabled, Deaf and neurodivergent artists – DaDa Fellows, DaDa Theatre Makers, and DaDa Ensemble to create new performance, music, photography, spoken word and much more, and DDFS21 is an opportunity to test the work out in front of an audience for the first time.

As such, a two-year cycle of development means that artists have the opportunity to TRY new work (DDFS21), DEVELOP it further and learn new skills (by being on the cohort of DaDA Incubate or DaDA Academy programmes) and to BECOME part of the biennial International Festival as an established artist.
