This workshop is a comfortable space to learn to speak about yourself and your work with confidence. Join Art with Heart’s Associate Producer, Megan Holland, for a workshop on values and finding direction to give yourself the creative care you deserve. In this two hour workshop, you’ll focus on:
- Your ambitions as an artist
- Identifying your values
- Applying your values to make strategic decisions in your work
- Expressing your values through marketing and brand identity
- This workshop is perfect if you’re figuring out how to speak about your work, wondering how to position yourself commercially or in need of some time for reflection – and you’ll also be sent a pack of questionnaires and useful resources that you can use after the session as you continue to explore your artistic identity.
Whether you’re an artist, freelancer or small organisation, this workshop is perfect for giving yourself some reflective time to consider your current practice, the values that drive you and your plans for the future.
ABOUT ART WITH HEART
Led by Sarah Emmott and Rachel Moorhouse, Art with Heart are an award-winning Salford based company who design and deliver performances, workshops and people-led creative projects for community groups, arts organisations and schools across the UK.
We believe in the power of theatre and art to change lives for the better, and our mission is pretty simple – to make it accessible, representative and get people to give it try. Working with people on their terms, we use the power of theatre and art to excite and engage our audiences, to have open conversations and give people the tools to unlock their own potential, take a stand, and make real changes – for themselves, for their communities and for our wider society.
Our work includes: award winning one-woman show Declaration, which explored Sarah Emmott’s experience of seeking diagnosis for adult ADHD, for which we received the ‘ADHD Foundation Partnership Award’ in recognition of our work in raising public awareness. As well as award-winning coming of age play Secret Diaries, 100 Deeds; an interactive exhibition addressing gender equality in the 21st century and Stan, a play for children which explores communication, friendship, identity, the family unit… and dinosaurs.
ABOUT MEGAN HOLLAND
Meg is a writer, producer and marketing strategist, creating meaningful creative experiences that help people to connect with all sorts of subjects. With a decade’s experience in advertising, she’s managed projects from branding to interior design and virtual reality for organisations including Heritage Great Britain, Bruntwood and Pizza Express. As a writer, she’s currently researching LGBTQ grief as part of an Arts Council DYCP grant. Megan was part of the socially engaged collective Making of Us at The Turnpike, has created a mindfulness walk for Lancashire Wildlife Trust and her work has been shortlisted for several awards.
