5th View Bar & Food

203-206 Piccadilly 5th Floor, SW1Y 6WW London, United Kingdom

This Dramaturgs’ Stammtisch, facilitated by David Loumgair, will explore the barriers to career progression and accessibility faced by early-career dramaturgs currently working in UK theatre, and explore strategies to overcome them. Mid-career dramaturgs are also welcome, where you will be asked to offer advice, guidance, support, and to share your own experiences with the group.

DAVID LOUMGAIR is a working-class theatre director and production dramaturg who was born and raised in the Scottish Borders. His credits include working with Dramaturge Nils Haarmann on ‘Shadows: Eurydice Speaks’, a new production adapted by Alice Birch for the Schaubuhne (Berlin), directed by Katie Mitchell (2016). David is also the founder of COMMON, and regularly runs workshops for arts organizations to support the career and skills development of early-career dramaturgs. Since 2018 David has been working as Senior Dramaturg at the Old Red Lion Theatre.
