Free theatre criticism workshop with Lyn Gardner- Northern Stage

If you are based in the North East and want to get into theatre criticism or develop your critical writing skills; if you’re a journalist or blogger and would value honest feedback on your writing from an experienced critic; if you already write reviews but are keen to hone your skills and get more experience; if you’re trying to increase your blog profile or reach a new audience; if you regularly go to the theatre but have never written a review and you’re not sure where to start; if you would like to be part of or help to develop a network of critics in the region; or if none of the above apply but you really love seeing shows and have opinions, then Northern Stage want to help!

Your brief will be to attend press night for Under Milk Wood at Northern Stage, take part in a workshop with Lyn and then publish your review by Friday 9 November.

 

Dates 

  • Tuesday 6 November, 7.15pm* – press night for Under Milk Wood at Northern Stage
  • Thursday 8 November 12.30-3.30pm – workshop with Lyn Gardner, including 1-2-1 feedback on your draft review**
  • Friday 9 November – publish your review***

*If you can’t make press night you can see the show on Wednesday 7 November at 7.45pm

**If you’re unable to attend or stay for the whole workshop, feedback by email can be arranged

*** If you don’t currently write for a publication or have your own blog, please let Northern Stage know and we can help to find an independent platform for your review
