Freedom Studios will host an 8 week ‘Introduction to Playwriting Course’ this Spring. Interested applicants must be 18 or over with little or no experience of writing for theatre (the screen or the stage). As a Bradford based theatre company they welcome applications from writers based in Bradford and the West Yorkshire area.

The course will be run by Theatre writer May Sumbwanyambe; an award winning playwright from Edinburgh who is currently writing new stage plays, radio plays and films for the National Theatre of Scotland and the BBC. He is a lecturer in English and Creative Writing at Northumbria University, Associate lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University and is a PhD candidate at the University of York.

Should social distancing measures be lifted before or during the running of the course sessions may then take place at Freedom Studios, Bradford. (In consultation with participants and the course tutor).
