Futures Festival Pleasance London

Futures Festival is a festival of work-in-progress shows from leading independent performance makers. Taking place in Pleasance London, Futures Festival provides an opportunity for early and mid-career artists to try out their work at various stages of development in front of audiences.

Futures Festival 2022 will span three weeks from 29th November to the 17th December. Each week will be curated by one of the Pleasance’s London associate artists or companies around a specific theme. These are:

Week 1 (w/c 28th November)
The Future Is Too Hot presented by Part Of The Main with a focus on radical stories and forms about tackling our climate crisis.

Week 2 (w/c 5th December)
The Future Is Rewritten presented by Bric à Brac focusing on true stories and shaking up the status quo.

Week 3 (w/c 12th December)
The Future Is Worth Fighting For presented by Katie Arnstein focusing on themes of protest, fighting for future generations, demanding equality, asking for more, triumphing over adversity, going beyond what is expected of you and hope.

As part of the week, you get:

  • 100% of the box office for your show
  • Technician provided by the Pleasance

Elements to bear in mind:

Show running times are restricted to a maximum length of 60 minutes – while this is a work-in-progress festival each performance will need a minimum of 30 minutes of material.
Please check out the venue specs for our Downstairs space to ensure your production will fit the space.
