HighTide submission programme- Sparks

Sparks is HighTide’s  script submission process.

HighTide is theatre company and charity based in East Anglia that has an unparalleled eleven-year history of successfully launching the careers of emerging British playwrights.

They are a small team and the volume of submissions they get through their open call-out make it hard for to respond individually and quickly to writers.  They realise that this can make the submissions process feel impenetrable at times, and want to do something about it, so are trialling a new way to read plays: Sparks.

During the week members of the HighTide team will spend a designated day reading any play submissions that come through to the literary email account that day.

If the team read your play, they’ll send feedback the very same day! At the end of the day, if they still haven’t managed to get to your piece and you don’t hear from them, you can resubmit the next reading day.

HighTide hope this will allow them to respond directly to submissions, keep things live so you know if your play has been read or not rather than waiting, and for Hightide to let you know immediately if we feel you’re right for us.

Process

Keep an eye on the HighTide Twitter account for the days they’ll be reading each week, or if you don’t have Twitter send  an email to hello@hightide.org.uk!

Please note: From w/c 5th March HighTide require you to send in a completed Equal Ops form along with your script, this can be downloaded here.
