Writers Guild members are invited to come and join a protest in London’s Leicester Square from 1-2pm on 14 June and show support to the Writers Guild of America (WGA), whose members are currently on strike.
WGGB members will be joining screenwriters from across the world in a Global Day of Solidarity which is being organised by the International Affiliation of Writers Guilds and the Federation of Screenwriters in Europe, of which WGGB is a member.
They will be gathering at 1pm by the statue of William Shakespeare in Leicester Square – we’ll have WGGB flags and placards but feel free to make and bring your own, including with your own slogans. You can download placard graphics here.
WGA members, plus members of sister Federation of Entertainment Unions will be joining
So we know how many people are planning to attend, they are asking members to register in advance- you can contact kate@writersguild.org.uk
If you are unable to attend, please support on social media. Change your Twitter profile on 14 June, use our special flyers and take photos of yourself with placards and slogans to share on social media, tagging @TheWritersGuild, @WGAEast, @WGAWest (you can find further details plus flyers here).
