After 10 years of discovering and producing brilliant new plays, Little Pieces of Gold are celebrating with the release of Little Pieces of Gold’s first play anthology, SHORT PLAYS WITH GREAT ROLES FOR WOMEN featuring 22 short plays by; Stella Ajayi, Fiona Doyle, Dipo Baruwa-Etti, Yasmin Joseph, Katherine Manners, Laura Jayne Ayres, Fran Bushe, Joanne Lau, Jasmin Mandi-Ghomi, Christine Robertson, Clare Joy Langford & Gabrielle Curtis, Tatty Hennessy, Corinne Salisbury, Grace Ivana Carroll, Sarah Hehir, Sarah Kosar, Elizabeth Kwenortey, Lydia Parker, Felix O’Brien, Jaki McCarrick, Vicki Connerty and Daisy Stenham.

Published by Routledge Books on 4 November, the anthology puts women right at the centre of the action, with all women-casts of all ages and backgrounds and a fabulous foreword by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm.

To keep the celebrations going, and in Little Pieces of Gold’s time honoured tradition of producing bold, topical new work, they’re putting on ALL WOMXN at Southwark Playhouse on November 24th. ALL WOMXN will be a night of short plays written by women, for all-women casts. The plays will be selected from an open submission and will receive a full production.

And programmed writers will be mentored by a cracking team of Little Pieces of Gold’s anthology playwrights including : Jaki McCarrick (Belfast Girls, Leopoldville, Mushroom Pickers), Tatty Hennessy (F Off, Hundred Words for Snow), Sarah Hehir (Zero Down, TV: Doctors), Sarah Kosar (Armadillo, Mumburger), Fran Bushe (Ad Libido) more mentors tbc.

​Submission criteria:

• you must identify as a woman
• your play should have an all-women cast – theme and topic is your choice!
• plays should ideally run at 15 minutes (unfortunately we can’t consider plays that run under 10 minutes)
• cast size should be 4 max
• we can only accept plays from UK writers
• no CV required – if this is your first play great!​​​
