Ever wondered what you get for signing up for London Playwrights membership?

Membership costs just £3.63 per month and directly supports their work, keeping othe organisation going and allowing the LPB to continue bringing you resources such as their Weekly Round-up (which is free for everyone!). Members also get at least 20% off  Script Consulting packages and workshops, bringing you substantial savings if you want to boost your writing by attending  courses or want tailored feedback on your script. There are also plenty of resources already available to access on the members site right now including the Self-Producing Handbook and resources on submitting your work to theatres.

But what else is happening this year?

WrAP2022
The January playwriting challenge is complete for this year and around 200 of you wrote a play at the start of 2022. However, all of the #WrAP2022 resources remain on the members site, meaning you can start the challenge any time. This is ideal for those wanting to kick start their writing, start a new idea, or even redraft an existing piece of work.

Learn
Learn with London Playwrights is a series of mini-podcast style seminars and downloadable handouts which cover all things playwriting. From significant plays to industry advice to key people, they’re building a compendium of writing resources.

Write Hacks
In the Spring, you’ll see the return of Write Hacks. This is a month of playwriting prompts, exercises and tips from playwrights, dramaturgs, and industry people which will land straight in your inbox to inspire you and spur you on!

Play Club 2022
An online book club with a twist is coming back in March! They’ll be selecting three plays from the 2021 members’ submission window for you to read and discuss in online sessions. You’ll then be invited to write a ten minute play in response to the chosen texts for the chance to be included in a showcase later in the year.

Redrafting Advice
For those who took part in #WrAP2022, LPB be sending out redrafting resources in April so you can get those scripts polished up ready for the Summer Submission Window! Members who didn’t take part in #WrAP2022 will still be given the chance to sign up to receive these resources.

Members Submission Window
In the summer, they’ll be opening their submission window and asking members to send in their plays! From this, they’ll identify writers for the 2023 development schemes and Play Club.

Workshop Week
Throughout the year, they’ll be busy working with writers from the 2021 submission window who made it on to the development schemes. This will culminate in a workshop week in November, where they’ll explore the work of these exciting new writers and share it with all of you!

Monthly Zoom sessions
All members are welcome to attend monthly Zoom sessions which take place on the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm – 8.30pm. Members can come along, share their ideas and any challenges they are facing and get tips and support from other members.
