London Playwrights’ Workshop launches new writer development scheme - London Playwrights 2020

For the third year running, London Playwrights’ Workshop will be running their January playwriting challenge #WrAP (Write a Play). During the challenge, participants are encouraged to complete a first draft of a new play within the month of January, with support, inspiration, and writing exercises sent directly to their inboxes.

Those who take part in #WrAP2020 will be invited to apply for London Playwrights’ Workshop’s new writer development scheme London Playwrights 2020 . Four writers will be selected for the programme, which will run throughout the year and focus on developing the plays for a rehearsed reading in London at the end of 2020. The chosen writers will receive mentorship, dramaturgical support, and playwriting masterclasses, allowing them to build on the ideas they develop during #WrAP2020.

In addition to this, all applicants will receive feedback on their submissions.

Deadline:

14 February 2020 (for applications for London Playwrights 2020),

Please sign up to #WrAP2020 before 1 January 2020 to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the emails.

However, you must be a member of London Playwrights’ Workshop to apply. Membership costs just £3.63 per month and all revenue goes back into supporting the organisation, allowing LPW to create new projects and continue to provide free resources, such as the Opportunities Weekly Round-up.
