National Theatre of Wales- Located Residencies

Located Residencies support the development of new performance ideas in particular regions of Wales, while simultaneously enabling creative engagement with communities or locations across the country. Through these residencies artists will experiment, take risks and explore their practice within a specific context. These residencies will be the starting points for future projects and productions that have a deep and meaningful connection with notions of ‘people’ and ‘place’.

The National Theatre of Wales are particularly interested in hearing from artists who want to explore ideas in North East Wales and West Wales.  They expect that most residencies will last for around a week and that there will be an important moment to share ideas/process with a local audience. They will expect to work with the selected artists to support the design of their residency and however they chose to share their results with a wider group of people.

Deadline

6th September 2018
Meetings with selected artists for the week commencing Monday 24 Sep 2018.
They envisage that most residencies will take place between 01 Nov 2018 and 31 Mar 2019 but are happy to consider other times.

_ be aged 18 and over;
_ not be currently engaged in full-time education;
_ not carry out residencies in connection to PhD research; and
_ be based in Wales or able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the development of work in Wales.
