National Theatre- Opportunities for Young People aged 16-21

If you want to find out how the National Theatre puts on productions or if you want to try something new, then there are loads of things The National Theatre offer to help you gain skills and make theatre. A limited number of full and part-funded bursary places are available. If you would like to apply for one, please indicate this on the form when you apply.

 

Some upcoming workshops for writers: 

16 – 21: A Playwright’s Toolkit: Writing for Theatre

In this three-part course you will develop the practical tools to write your play, supported by a professional playwright. Through writing exercises, games and creative tasks you will find out how to create structure, character and drama.

Whether you’re totally new to playwriting or have many drafts in your drawer, this course will help you sharpen your ideas and turn them into theatre.

This course is available to 16–21-year-olds and you must be available for every session to take part.

6 – 21: Gig Theatre with Middle Child

They are looking for musicians, writers, emcees, dancers and singers to take part in this unique performance project in October half term with award-winning gig theatre-makers, Middle Child.

Across the project you will write, compose, direct and perform in an original piece of gig theatre that blends music with new writing. Create original theatre that makes a noise, from scratch, in just four days.

Wednesday 24 October, 10am–5pm
Thursday 25 October, 10am–5pm
