At its core, New Writing North’s work has two main goals: to encourage people to develop their own creativity through reading and writing, and to identify talent and support writers to fulfil their creative ambitions.

Writers have a vital role in crafting the stories that shape us. At an exciting time for New Writing North, they’re inviting two writers to work at the heart of our organisation to create new artistic work and be active members of our staff team.

They have no preconceptions about what the artwork(s) you create may be (although it will involve writing in some form); they want to provide you with the time and space to create the work within our organisation. They will provide support in relation to developing the project, producing and disseminating it, but control over what’s created will be yours.

As well as creating your own artistic work, as a member of the team you will attend regular creative and planning meetings, and you will be invited to contribute to decision-making across programmes of work.
