no strings attached- Farnham Maltings Theatre grant scheme

Applications are now open for no strings attached; a grant scheme to help young people make their first piece of theatre. Grants of between £500 and £1000 are available to young people from across the south-east region. The grant is for anyone aged between 18 and 25 who hasn’t previously received a grant from the Arts Council.

If your project is suitable will be invited to present your idea to a panel of arts professionals and young people on Wednesday 24th October 2018 in Farnham. Please note places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

 

Guidelines 

Applicants can apply as an individual or as part of a group. Should you be successful you will also be paired with a professional mentor.

You must live in one of the following counties: Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Isle of Wight, Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Buckinghamshire.

The no strings attached grant is to help support young theatre-makers, and so you will need to demonstrate that the grant will go towards funding the creation of a new piece of theatre. Your idea could include other elements; dance, puppetry, film, music etc. but first and foremost ideas must be about making a piece of theatre.

Additional funding may be available for access costs in relation to disability.

 

Deadline 

5pm on Monday 1st October 2018.

 

To apply for the grant you will need to talk or otherwise present about your idea to a panel of arts practitioners and young people.

Your presentation should last no more than 10 minutes and should include a breakdown of how much you are requesting and how it will be spent. Your presentation may have an element of performance and could include video or photographs.

The meeting of the grant giving panel will take place Weds 24th October 2018 at Farnham Maltings. Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis
