Pentabus and Heritage & Culture Warwickshire presents- It Gets Lighter From Here

The 21st of December is the shortest day of the year. On this date, alongside Culture Central, and other West Midlands’ arts organisations, Pentabus will release a series of SEVEN digital micro commissions, creating a region-wide celebration of hope, optimism and possibility for the future, and of the value in creativity and the arts.

COULD YOU BE ONE OF THESE SEVEN ARTISTS?

They are looking to commission up to seven artist from the rural West Midlands to create sixty seconds of digital content responding to the provocation ‘It Gets Lighter From Here’ alongside their rural context. Three of the commissions will be awarded to artists from Warwickshire.

If you are an artist who considers yourself currently living or working in a rural context in Shropshire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire or Warwickshire, then they want to hear from you!

The sixty-seconds of digital content can be in a variety of forms – audio, podcast, video, recorded or live. You could be a theatre or dance artist, a spoken word artist, filmmaker, digital artist, or a collaboration of artists.

The finished piece needs to be shareable on digital platforms, and can be created or recorded on your personal device or through technical equipment that you use as part of your practice.

All projects will be given development support. The final product will be edited and shared online via our digital platforms and across Culture Central’s network of West Midlands artists and organisations.

They are offering £250 for each commission.

Deadline for your Expression of Interest is Friday 27 November 2020, 10am.
