Pintsized Plays is one of the leading international competition for short plays of up to 10 minutes. Winning plays are performed in selected pubs in Pembrokeshire and the six winning entries and four runners up then go on to be performed at the Script Slam at Theatr Gwaun in Fishguard where the audience get to vote for their favourite script – and the winner will walk away with the coveted Pint-pot (with a half-pint for the runner up). On top of that all ten plays will be considered for publication in Pint Sized Plays next volume of scripts. There is an entry fee of £5.50

Entry Guidelines 

1. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and over.
2. Scripts should be capable of being staged in a pub with a running time of between 5 and 10 minutes.
3. Scripts should require two or three characters only with minimal additional props.
4. Scripts will be judged on originality, quality, and suitability for the setting.
5. All plays should be written in English.
6. The author’s name must not appear on the cover page or anywhere within the script.
7. Scripts should be in Word or pdf format and uploaded to www.pintsizedplays.org.uk.
8. The entry fee of £5.50 or equivalent for each play submitted should be made through PayPal.
9. Entrants can submit as many scripts as they like, provided each is accompanied  the appropriate entry fee.
10. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
11. The entry deadline is May 31st 2019.
12. There will be six winning scripts which will be performed in pubs in Tenby, Pembrokeshire during Tenby Festival week, and subsequently at other venues yet to be announced.  The four runners up, at the organisers’ discretion, might also play in pubs in advance of the Script Slam.
13. The six winning scripts and four runners up will also be performed at the Script Slam on September 28. The scripts will be judged by the audience and there will be two prizes: for Best Script and Runner Up, together with a certificate for the third place.  The performances will also be judged by a professional theatre director and awards made for the best performances.
14. The copyright of each script remains with the author. Authors will grant ‘Pint-sized Plays’ the right to perform their winning script at events so arranged, during the Pint-sized Festival period.   Selected plays may also be considered for publication in an anthology of winning scripts.
15. Winning plays in past years have also been requested to be performed by other companies in other locations after the Pint-sized Plays festival has ended.  Subject to the author’s approval, Pint-sized Plays will, if so required, act as agents for such performances and collect and pay a royalty for each play so performed.
16. The information you give us will be held on a database so that we might contact you in the future. They will not pass this on to any third party. You can ask for this to be deleted if you so wish.
