Progress Theatre Reading- opportunities and events for playwrights

The Progress Theatre will be launching two projects for new writers this autumn. Reading Playwrights is a set of workshops for new playwrights and Scratch Reading is an opportunity for playwrights to see their work staged.

The Progress Theatre is at the Mount, off Christchurch Road, Reading RG1 5HL and already supports new writers with its annual short play competition Writefest and their double-bill of new one-act plays called Progress Premieres.

Reading Playwrights

Reading Playwrights is a new group for playwrights based in and around Reading. Sessions are open to both beginners and writers whose work has already been staged.

The monthly sessions will be led workshops with exercises, and will include opportunities to discuss the difficulties and challenges in writing.
