An evening of film, performance, discussion and conversation, QUEER ALL ABOUT IT is a celebration of diverse LGBTQ+ stories and new perspectives by five emerging LGBTQ+ writers.

A young man defies labels and judgement, a sister remembers a fateful family game of UNO and an argument that can’t be taken back; a new father has the first day of school nerves; a woman must prove the thing she has had to hide to save herself; a prodigal son returns home for a family wedding, ready to reveal their true self.

Green Carnation Company (The Pride, 2018, My Night with Reg, 2020) explore topics of class, HIV, fatherhood, asylum seekers, gender and faith in five monologues by emerging LGBTQ+ writers that shine a light on diverse LGBTQ+ experiences. Working with film-makers Bloody Bandit Production and local performers, Green Carnation have brought these stories to life through a live monologue performance and four powerful and moving short films.

Inspired by Mark Gatiss’ 2017 Queers monologue series, commemorating 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality, Green Carnation Company’s monologue commissions celebrate contemporary queer experiences and showcases new LGBTQ+ writing talent.

Co-artistic directors Dan Ellis and Dan Jarvis will host the evening, introducing each film and discussing the themes and topics within each film along with the true life stories that inspired them. There will also be an opportunity to ask them questions on their experience of producing LGBTQ+ theatre and founding your own theatre company.

The live monologue will be:
FLUID by Nick Maynard

The films include:
DRAW FOUR by Lorna Rose Treen
LUNCHBOXES by Matt Gurr
I CONTAIN MULTITUDES by Priyanka Jha
PROVE IT by Lynsey Cullen
