Queer Womxn and Non-binary Creatives Discussion Group

Queer Womxn and Non-binary Creatives Discussion Group

Tuesday 14 July

10.00 – 11.30am

Sita Thomas and Hannah Hauer-King will be facilitating a discussion group for queer womxn and non-binary creatives (directors, designers, producers, writers) to discuss issues of representation, our canon of work and what they want to see in the future theatrical landscape.

They also hope to encourage new collaborations through connection and networking in this session. Having discussed these kind of topics for Lemon House Theatre’s podcast about queer womxn and representation of queer womxn in theatre, they are inspired and keen to create a space to meet with other creatives to talk, reflect, and plan together, hopefully leading to some positive future action.

Topics of conversation could include, but are certainly not limited to:

  • What have been the positive changes for queer womxn and non-binary people in theatre?
  • What do we want to see more of?
  • How do we create more opportunities and spaces for queer womxn/people to connect and make work?
  • How can we understand the strides that have been made in cis-gay male work for the stage, and what could be done to increase different types of stories and representation?

If you would like to attend this discussion then please sign up here so we can get a sense of numbers.
