As part of the work to refurbish the RSC’s Costume Workshop, The National Heritage Lottery Fund has supported them to deliver a programme of outreach work called THREADS.
THREADS engagement work will continue over the Summer holidays with the RSC’s Creative Placemaking and Public Programmes team delivering a programme of free outdoor events in RSC spaces that will bring the vibrant history of costume making at the RSC, and in Stratford-upon-Avon, to life.
The team are looking to engage a Freelance Writer/Director as part of this exciting programme of work. In this role you will create and direct two engaging, high-energy performances that will showcase our costume making heritage and techniques to a broad audience. These performances will be 20-30 minutes long and should be curated to make them as inclusive and accessible as possible.
To deliver this project you will have access to resources to develop your knowledge of costume making, with a research period included in the delivery schedule.
Friday 21 May.
The delivery fee for this project will be £2100, to include researching and writing the performances and rehearsal and performance attendance (up to 6 full days).
