What are the challenges Northern British Asian Writers currently face?
In a time where they can often be ignored in favour of the South and London how does heritage, gender and place influence writers’ work?
For those who may have been priced out of the South, what opportunities can be made and found in the rich cultural landscape of the North?
Join a panel of British Asian Women Writers for a timely discussion of these questions.
Chaired by writer, poet and Slate Enabler Afshan D’souza-Lodhi the panel includes Transmedia writer and poet Maya Chowdhry, playwright Shabina Aslam and spoken-word poet Suhaiymah Manzoor-Khan.
This event is created by Slate, an Eclipse movement supporting Black* artists in the North to work on a local, national and international level.
