Splash and Ripple are working on a project with University of West England exploring how to deliver an empathy-driven storytelling experience about migration. The project is particularly interested in creating the conditions to experience another person’s perspective.
They are looking for someone who is excited to work with us to develop new ways of telling stories. In collaboration with UWE they have interviewed 20 people who have moved to the UK from other parts of the world. They are looking to commission a story based on this research, to be turned into a site specific audio experience.
The piece will open in Bristol in November 2018 and will tour in 2019. You will be working to a brief in close collaboration with the creative director and the sound designer.
FEE: £4,000 – £5,000 to include travel, expenses and VAT. Based on experience.
YOU: Are interested in the potential of new forms of immersive story telling and are enthusiastic about the idea of experimenting with new ways of enabling the audience to experience your stories. You have a good track record of writing for live audiences. They’re particularly interested in hearing from writers from BAME/ migrant backgrounds or from people who have direct links to migration.
Please get in touch as soon as possible. They will Skype or meet candidates on the week beginning 24 September.
APPOINTMENT PERIOD: 1 October – 9 November 2018
