The Bush- Artists call out for Local Partnership scheme

The Bush Theatre is looking for two lead artists – open to both individuals and companies – to work with local partners over six months.

This is a six month paid opportunity working with community groups.

Outline of the role:

For the first three months, the artist will curate fortnightly events for the groups where they will explore different artistic styles, art-forms and ideas according to the interest of the group(s).
Over the first three months they hope that the artists and the groups will build a relationship and get the opportunity to explore in depth the creative interests of the group. The artists will then work more intensively with the groups over the latter three months to lead a centrepiece creative project.

They want to hear from artists who are excited and inspired by our local community and who will enter this project with a spirit of openness, curiosity and play. They will need to respond creatively to the needs and interests of the groups, working with them to empower and enable them to express their ideas creatively.

The value of equal opportunities runs through the heart of the organisation. Their diverse team and their range of experiences are vital to the Bush’s success, but they still have work to do to make sure that Bush staff represent the communities we serve. They actively encourage people with different backgrounds to join us. They are particularly keen to receive applications from people of colour and disabled people who are currently underrepresented in our team. All disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria will be invited to interview.
