The Crash Course- FREE online sketch comedy writing course for underrepresented writers

The Crash Course is a short FREE online sketch comedy writing course aimed at improving diversity in writers’ rooms. Gemma Arrowsmith, writer on Tracey Ullman’s Show, Spitting Image and script editor of Newsjack is running ‘The Crash Course’; a short FREE online sketch comedy writing course aimed at improving diversity in writers’ rooms.

The Crash Course consists of four 90 min workshops covering sketch structure, game, escalation, punchlines, writing for TV and radio, writing to a brief, formatting and topical sketch writing- amongst other things!

This course is aimed at under-represented groups. You should be passionate about comedy and want to write comedy as a career- but have so far faced significant barriers to entry into the industry. If you have struggled to gain access to the industry because of your income, class, background, heritage, race, gender identity, sexuality, disability or neurodiversity, this course might be for you.

You will need to fill in the application form via Gemma’s website
