THE JOHN THAW INITIATIVE IN ASSOCATION WITH ACTORS AWARENESS

The Actors Centre is delighted to be running the next season of the John Thaw Initiative in association with Actors Awareness, from January – March 2019.

The season will offer an opportunity for working class actors to have a platform to develop their work. Successful applicants will be granted 1 – 3 evenings in the John Thaw Studio at the Actors Centre to perform a work-in-progress piece to a paying audience, on a box office split deal. This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to experiment and garner feedback on performance pieces still in development, in a renowned central London venue, without any financial risk on venue hire costs.

Deadline

Wednesday 14th November.

Entries

They are looking for submissions from actors and performances artists who identify as working class. All selected pieces will be around the theme of ‘class’ – the interpretation of this theme is down to the discretion of the applicant.

NB: Please note that the John Thaw Initiative is strictly for work-in-progress pieces only, i.e. rehearsed readings, scratches, short scenes, previews, etc. Fully-fledged, finished productions will not be considered.
