The Old Vic- Free workshops

As they begin the search for the next group of exciting artists to become The Old Vic 12, the theatre are hosting a series of free workshops to connect with a wider range of theatre makers. In addition to the main programme, each friendly, informal session will provide an opportunity to improve skills, connect with The Old Vic team and learn more about the support available.

DEVISING WITH LUCY J SKILBECK (MILK PRESENTS)

for LGBTQ+ Artists

The Old Vic – Tue 14 Aug, 2pm-5pm

Ready for some quick and dirty devising? Join Lucy J Skilbeck as they share approaches to devising theatre work developed with the electrifying Milk Presents.

ADAPTATIONS WITH MATTHEW XIA

for People of Colour
The Old Vic – Wed 15 Aug, 2pm-5pm

Who is the monster today? Hot off the back of his successful adaptation of Frankenstein at the Royal Exchange with April de Angelis, Director Matthew Xia leads a workshop on the process of adapting for the stage.

PITCHING WITH RIKKI BEADLE-BLAIR

for Emerging Artists aged 35+
The Old Vic – Wed 15 Aug, 6pm-9pm

Life’s a pitch! Join Rikki Beadle-Blair (MBE) in this practical session exploring how best to pitch your ideas and your story. Rikki will be drawing from his experience pitching for theatre commissions, television and film – as well as being directly involved in The Old Vic 12 selection process.

DEVISING WITH JESSE JONES (THE WARDROBE ENSEMBLE)

for Disabled Artists
St. Andrews, Waterloo – Thu 23 Aug, 2pm-5pm
This workshop will be BSL interpreted

Inspired by the work of the award-winning Wardrobe Ensemble, this session is aimed at developing the skills necessary to make devised and ensemble-based theatre that is exciting, original and accessible for all.
