Love discussing plays? Want to connect with like-minded people? We’re delighted to announce TBTL’s new, free, play reading club.
Each month we’ll be reading a play and meeting as a group (online, via the zoom platform) to discuss it. The club will be hosted by Artistic Director Liz Stevenson, and there will be a guest appearance from the playwright themselves at each session.
Our first play and discussion group date is:
Love, Lies & Taxidermy by Alan Harris
Alan will be joining the session which is on Thu 30 July, from 6 to 8pm.
To sign up for the first session, please complete a registration form by 5pm on Wednesday 8 July. They’ll be letting people know later that evening if they have a place. Further details about purchasing the play-text, the format of the session and what to prepare will be shared with members once they have been confirmed to have a place.
Please note that as we have a maximum group number (though this may change going forward depending on take up and how our first session goes), they’d encourage signing up soon! But in order to make sure that as many people who are interested are able to partake, please only sign up if you know you can make the date and time.
Familiarisation session
Before the first play-reading club meeting, they will be holding a Familiarisation session on Monday 13 July at 6pm so that members can meet one another other, get comfortable with the technology, find out a bit more about how the club will work, and have a chat over a cuppa!
Future sessions and plays
Following this initial pilot session, they’ll then announce the next play, alongside details of where and how to purchase it, and open up registration for the session.
Other further sessions will include plays by Jessica Swale, Laura Wade, Simon Longman and Roy Williams.
