In celebration of Scotland’s ‘Year of Young People 2018’ the Tron Theatre is launching the Mayfesto Award. One writer will be awarded a £2,000 cash prize, and package including script development sessions and run of public rehearsed readings at Mayfesto 2018. In this inaugural year of the award, applications will only be accepted from young people aged 18 – 25.

Eligibly

• You must be aged between 18 and 25 on the date and time of the submission deadline (23rd October 2017, 5pm).
• You must be based in Scotland.
• You can have no more than one professional production to your credit (defined as those produced under ITC/TMA/WGGB/SSP contracts).
• Submitted work must be unencumbered and available.
• Submitted work must be written in English or Scots.
• Submitted work must be performable by no more than 5 actors (this can include characters off stage, and actors ‘doubling up’).
• You must ensure that they will be available, if called upon, to attend script development sessions at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow in early 2018, as well as 16th January 2018 for the Shortlist Readings and the culmination of the project w/c 28th May 2018.

You can only submit one application for the award per year.
