Tron Theatre is pleased to announce its 2023/24 Resident Writer opportunity, offering a Scotland-based playwright a commission to write and develop a new piece of theatre.

Applicants are invited to submit a previously written play as an example of their writing and an idea for a play they would like to write if chosen as the Resident Writer.

The Resident Writer will receive a first draft commission fee of £2,235 for a new play of up to 60 minutes, as well as a package of support including:

• Up to 4 sessions with a dramaturg
• A rehearsal week supported by a director and performers
• A public reading at the Tron in May 2024
• Advice and support from the Tron’s team.

Deadline:

Noon on Thursday 28th September.

The successful applicant will be someone who shows real promise as a stylish and distinctive playwright and who pitches an idea the Tron Theatre are excited about and intrigued by.
