WoLab presents… the Actor-Writer Programme

WoLab’s Actor-Writer Programme is back and are thrilled for the first time to be running a Spring course. Funded once again by Arts Council England, and led by industry professionals this 15-week programme is aimed specifically at actor-writers.

Practitioners working on the course include: Emily Aboud, Toby Clarke, Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu, Tash Hyman, Anna Jordan, Tobi Kyeremateng, Yolanda Mercy, Tree Petts, Imogen Sarre, Abigail Sewell, Shelley Silas, Chris Sonnex, Simon Stephens, Lyndsey Turner, Rachel Vogler, Camilla Whitehill and Alistair Wilkinson, with more to be announced.

Over the 15 weeks, the group will develop their existing playwriting and acting skills through a series of tailored workshops, which will also include mentoring sessions in producing, pitching and fundraising, as well as regular visits from established playwrights/theatre makers within the industry. All participants will be working towards a industry showcase to an invited audience of agents, casting directors, programmers, and producers. Throughout the duration of the course, participants will write their own monologue to perform for the showcase, as well as co-write a duologue with another member of the group. They will receive personalised support and feedback during the process.
